Bushcraft parties in your own garden!
A great way to celebrate a birthday. Parties are 1.5 hours and for up to 15 children (aged 7+). We have serious fun. We will talk with you about your event and make sure the birthday person has a very special time we are happy to take requests for activities. Popular activities include an introduction to fire lighting with some camp fire cooking, wide games and shelter building. Nature based fun is the aim. There can be games that involve camouflage paint (need we say more?) and of course marshmallow toasting round the fire! It’s a jam packed 90 minutes!
A standard Discover Bushcraft party is 90 minutes long and may include:
- An introduction to fire lighting – use a fire steel
- Knifework to create tinder materials (aged 10+ only)
- Marshmallows and dampers (dampers are like campfire croissants!)
- Shelter building
- Game or activity
You can have your party in one of the woodlands we use, or we can come to you.
Costs
A standard party of 1.5 hours is £185.
(£50 deposit payable when booking, the outstanding £135 on the day of the party) This is for a group of up to 10 children, for a group between 10 – 15 children the cost is £240

Discover Bushcraft parties are suitable for up to 15 children or young people, there is no minimum amount, we can do a one to one session if preferred.
A parental/guardian consent form is required for each child or young person under the age of 18yrs.
We ask that an additional adult (who doesn’t have responsibilities for caring for a younger child) is present throughout the party. This ensures we have an extra pair of eyes on the fire and can cover toilet visits etc.
Discover Bushcraft will hold parties whatever the weather (unless it’s too dangerous) – our day camp set up will provide enough shelter for all of the activities. In fact some of the best bushcraft experiences can be had when the weather is a little inclement!
Teenagers
For teens we step it up to include more challenging content, this may include Advanced Fire Lighting and Knife Skills or maybe more complex Wood Fire Cooking.
Helen at Discover Bushcraft has worked with many groups of teenagers over the years and is able to provide fantastic age appropriate activities that engage, stimulate and inspire! We will happily discuss with you and preferred content at the booking stage.
Something Different….
Your party doesn’t have to be just 1.5 hours long, we can add on additional elements. The add-ons come in blocks of 30 minutes (45 minutes for the Advanced Firelighting) and are:
- Nature art / crafts
- Team games
- Wide games (depending on space available)
- Tracking / treasure hunt
- Advanced Firelighting (45 minutes)
- Wood Fire Cooking – cook your lunch / tea / 3 course meal – you choose! (30+ minutes depending on choice!)
Each 30 minute (45 mins for Advanced Firelighting) add-on booked in addition to the standard party is £30 for up to an additional 2 hours.
