The graceful and noble sport of archery has been practiced for thousands of years. Key to survival for our ancestors, it has developed to become a highly-skilled and technical event.
We have set up an archery range in the beautiful Thaxted Conservation Gardens for these introduction to archery sessions for both kids and adults (this is a mixed session).
DETAILS
An introduction to archery with our GB Archery qualified instructors. Session is 1 hour 15 minutes.
No previous experience necessary. Our qualified instructors will cover safety and technique at a pace to suit the learner and by the end of the session the arrows will be flying true!
INSTRUCTIONS
Each session is limited to a maximum of eight participants, so everyone will have time and attention to develop their skills. Please arrive promptly so the session can start on time.
Wear weather appropriate comfortable clothes that give a good range of movement. Please tie long hair back and avoid wearing jewellery (necklaces, earrings and bangles / bracelets). We also ask that scarves are removed and that collars and jackets / coats / hoodies are done up to avoid anything flapping. Please wear closed, robust shoes. No open toes please. We advise that gloves are not worn when shooting, but can be used between rounds if it’s very cold.
COST
The price is £18 per person including VAT. There is no charge for parents accompanying their child but not participating in the archery itself.
All children must be accompanied by an adult carer.
Activity must be booked and paid for 48 hours in advance of the session date. Unfortunately we cannot accommodate walk-up participants on the day.
